SLE Support Programme

The NRTA in partnership with HEP works to designate and deploy teachers with specialist expertise (SLEs) to provide support and training to other schools.

SLEs focus on developing leadership capacity to support the development of classroom expertise, supporting the Department for Education’s goal to provide every child and young person with access to high-quality provision, achieving to the best of their ability regardless of location, prior attainment and background.

Schools can access support from SLEs with expertise in a wide range of subjects and areas for example:

  • Reading and phonics

  • Maths

  • Early years

  • Art

  • Music

  • Curriculum and middle leadership

  • MFL

  • Pedagogy and cognitive science

  • SEND

SLEs work in different ways. Support can be designed and adapted to meet the needs of a school.
If you think your school would benefit from working with an SLE please email info@haringeyeducationpartnership.co.uk
Experienced middle or senior leaders interested in supporting middle and senior leaders in other schools can apply to become a specialist leader of education (SLE).

If you are interested in becoming an SLE, you need to have been in a leadership role other than headteacher for at least 2 years. Your headteacher will be asked to confirm that you’re in an appropriate role.
